PGSI PROFILE:

PGSI is an acronym for "Pelma Greater Structured Initiative." "Pelma" being reference to a former White owned group of companies and "Greater Structured Initiative being reference to the present Black shareholders and Board of Directors.

Pelma Greater Initiative Maintenance (Pty) Ltd initially in 1998 was formed as a joint venture company specializing in the marketing of services and products relating to the general vehicle maintenance-,repair- and refurbishment industry. This was done for the benefit of the former Pelma Group and as a second step on the road of transformation. (The first step by the Pelma Group was the appointment of a Black PRO)

More important than the exceptional technical results achieved, was the relationship that developed out of this joint venture. A transparent relationship, based upon mutual respect in the absence of greed.

During 2000, the company's name was changed to PGSI Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd. Shareholding was bought and paid for by the two Black Female Equity partners, Phyllis Lerutoane and Gladys Dumakude. Each of them now own 50% of the company. Mr. Walter Mokoape, former President of the Sowetan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, joins the two ladies as Managing Director. Also joining the Board as Director and joint Executive Officer, is Mr. Daan Visagie. Daan is a Diploma and Industrial Engineer and Management Specialist.
